TF Sport has underlined its intentions for the 2015 Avon Tyres British GT Championship by fielding a second Eurostar-backed Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 for Jody Fannin and Andrew Jarman.

Tom Ferrier is justifiably proud of what was achieved during his maiden season at the helm of TF Sport, which boldly embarked on an ambitious journey to the top flight of British and international sportscar racing in 2014.

The Redhill, Surrey-based team thrived as one of only a handful of official Aston Martin Racing Partner Teams, utilising advanced technical support to achieve podium finishes and race wins during a lucrative full-time British GT campaign and sporadic outings in other high-profile championships, such as the International GT Open, Blancpain Endurance Series and Dutch Supercar Challenge.

Fannin, the 2012 British GT4 Champion, was made a BRDC (British Racing Drivers’ Club) Rising Star as he graduated to the world stage in the Blancpain Endurance Series in 2013.

The IWI Watches Ambassador had his first experience of a GT3 Aston Martin in a test at Portimao, Portugal early last year and the 21-year old from Surrey worked hard at sourcing the right opportunity to race the car, particularly after winning in TF Sport colours on the International GT Open's visit to Silverstone.

“The past couple of seasons have been frustrating, as they have mainly consisted of one-off outings in various championships in Europe and the UK, but we’ve worked hard to put this together and I’m really looking forward to entering a full season,” said Fannin. "This is a really good opportunity, especially as I’ll be partnered with Andrew (Jarman), who did a good job in GT4 in 2014. It’s a tough field, but we hope to run at the sharp end.”

Jarman, meanwhile, won the 2013 Aston Martin GT4 Challenge and duly acquitted himself well during his maiden British GT campaign by taking the GT4 fight right down to the wire last year in a TF Sport Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

The Milton Keynes resident brings prestigious backing from European high-speed rail operator, Eurostar, and is confident he can hold his own in the burgeoning British GT Championship’s headlining GT3 division.

“I’m really looking forward to the 2015 season and it is good natural progression from where I’ve come from," said Jarman. "It was important for me to remain within the Aston Martin family, the V12 Vantage GT3 is a proven, race-winning car, I know Tom (Ferrier) and the TF Sport team well, so there’s a lot of consistency to carry over from last year. Of course, I have a new teammate in Jody Fannin who is very capable.

"Like last year, lapping consistently and at the same pace will be key to fighting for the championship. I hope that will be the case and will translate into results from the outset. We’re not there to make up the numbers, podiums will be the first target and then race wins, and we will see where we are come the end of the year.”

Having already attracted four formidable drivers to the fold, as Jarman and Fannin align with Derek Johnston and Matt Bell, TF Sport’s short and long-term ambitions are clear.
