After leaving Snetterton with two podiums and a good haul of points, TF Sport head to Silverstone for the third round of the British GT Championship in high hopes.

With a record 42-car entry list, British GT enters the first of its endurance races this weekend. The opening rounds at Oulton Park and Snetterton held two one-hour sprint races, unlike the upcoming Silverstone 500 that is a single event fought over three hours.

The longer format also means 1.5x points are available and with five races remaining on the calendar, the championship is just about hitting the halfway mark.

Defending Silverstone 500 winners, Mark Farmer and Nicki Thiim have had an unlucky start to the year but begun their title recovery with a pole position in Snetterton, where they also finished in the top four. While Jonny Adam and Graham Davidson finished the same weekend’s first race in third place to secure the teams first podium of the season in the series.

The team sit in second place in the GT3 team’s championship despite the unfavourable start to the season. Matched with the points scored in the season opener at Oulton Park, both cars sit amongst the top ten in the drivers’ standings with the #47 in fifth and the #2 in ninth.

“I’m feeling excited for Silverstone, it’s a great place to host the longest race of the championship and finally on a track which has space to allow even the pro’s to battle and overtake without having to risk silly contact which we’ve seen so much of in the first two rounds.” “We are in a much better place now with the car, we start the weekend with no pit stop penalty and with longer stints, strategy playing a big part and a lot of points on the table this is bound to be a thriller of a race, I’m confident we can do well and can’t wait to hit the track!”

“We’re looking forward to the Silverstone 500. We are looking good off the back of Snetterton and were much stronger. Hopefully we’ll get more than one podium out of this one, it’d be nice to get both GT3 and GT4 cars on the podium. It’s a better race here with it being three hours and there’s more strategy involved with it being a longer race, so we’re very much looking forward to seeing what we can do.”

This year’s Silverstone 500 houses the biggest GT4 grid in championship history, with a total of 26 entrants.

Patrick Kibble and Josh Price have earnt a steady collection of points in this year’s British GT with a pair of fifth places in Oulton Park. Tom Canning and Ash Price debuted their first British GT podium for the team after converting their first pole position in Snetterton, where they ultimately finished in second place.

The team sit fourth in the GT4 team’s championship with all four drivers looking forward to the weekend’s longer race duration with their sights set on success.

“Snetterton was a tough weekend for me and the team, but I’m very confident that we are going to bounce back. Silverstone is always going to be a special circuit to race at, and I am looking forward to seeing what Josh and I can achieve together in our first endurance race. The season so far has been a real mixture of fortunes, so hopefully we will be able to have a more positive result on Sunday. The pace has been there for both of us, and we have been unlucky. I know that both of us and the team are really determined to make this race count!”
