SV Racing (SVR) will be seeking strong results in Round 2 of the Ginetta GT4 Supercup at Donington Park on the Derbyshire/Leicestershire border, as it welcomes Bradley Ellis to its the fold (17-19 April).
Ellis, a former Avon Tyres British GT Champion, will fill the vacant third SVR Ginetta G55 as teammate to Mitchell Hale and Stephen Young, as SVR looks to increase its foothold in the highly-competitive championship.
The Hinckley, Leicestershire-based driver, who is competing in this season’s British GT Championship behind the wheel of a Ginetta G55, has a level head and expects a tough challenge this weekend at his home circuit, but is focused on scoring a hat-trick of strong points finishes.
Having taken a sabbatical from motorsport for four years, Mitchell Hale returned to the track at Brands Hatch a fortnight ago, where he impressed SVR Team Director and ex-UK Clio Cup champion Danny Buxton.
Hale led the SVR charge on numerous occasions during the opening three races of the 2015 season, showing a great turn of speed and taking the challenge to his more experienced GT4 Supercup rivals en route to a trio of top ten finishes.
“Donington Park should offer plentiful chances for pass with a combination of chicanes, tight and fast-sweeping corners, so I’m hoping that I can record some strong finishes inside the top five. If we can qualify fifth of sixth, hopefully we can pick off a few cars throughout the race and score some decent points.”
SV Racing Director, Danny Buxton, said: “Mitchell (Hale) made a great impression last time out and, considering the amount of time he has had in the car, if he can carry on in the same vein, we will see a huge improvement in him this weekend.
“Bradley (Ellis), meanwhile, is a fab addition, as he brings a huge amount of experience in powerful rear-wheel-driven cars, and I’m hoping he can push our drivers and help them score some strong points at Donington Park.”
Qualifying for Round 2 of the Ginetta GT4 Supercup at Donington Park is scheduled to start at 11.35 on Saturday (18 April), with the first of three races later that same day at 16.20 and the following two races at 12.15 and 16.25 on Sunday (19 April).
