Greaves Motorsport started their 2015 season with a productive two days at the Official Test for the European Le Mans Series, held at the Circuit Paul Ricard in the Provence region of France. Running their Nissan-powered Gibson 015S in the LM P2 class, the top category in the ELMS, the team completed a full program of aerodynamic and mechanical tests in pursuit of the optimal set up to maximise the performance of the car. It was a very positive first step in the team's new partnership with Kairos Technologies and left the partners with a sense of cautious optimism for the season.

While in strict terms the times set during the five sessions have no bearing on the year ahead, it is a good opportunity to assess the relative place of a team in the grid's “pecking order”. Greaves Motorsport posted three in the second session of the test.

In addition to the development program the test was valuable in getting the new driver line up comfortable with the car and the team, the results speak for themselves. While Bjorn Wirdheim had raced with the team in the past, Gary Hirsch, Jon Lancaster and SaudAl Faisal had not, only running in test sessions. All, however, were relatively new to the Gibson 015S and they all got up to speed as the results indicate.

The team have further tests planned and will announce the final details of their 2015 ELMS and Le Mans campaigns in the near future.

The drivers all did a good job achieving the times that we had aimed for and the car ran reliably, a fitting testament to the hard work of the guys in the team. This is the beginning of a long hard season, but the signs are encouraging.”
