Having missed the first two rounds of the season, 15 year old Tom Bale calculated that in order to win the Championship he would need to get maximum points from pole position, fastest lap and race wins at the last four rounds of the season. And that is exactly what he did today at the Dubai Autodrome. Saeed Bintouq worked very hard to stay close but just did not have the speed today and so had to be content with another two 2nd place trophies.

The promised battle between Joel Young and Keverne McShine resulted in success for ex-F.Ford racer Young who managed to get past fast starting McShine to claim a brace of 3rd place trophies.

With the two young Saudi drivers missing from the grid again we saw newcomer Adam Reeve enjoying the experience of racing a proper racing car since his multiple race wins in a saloon car.

Kuwait's only single-seater racing driver Adnan Bahrami continued to show great promise as he improved on his qualifying time by a second as he battled with Reeve.

So the points gap between Bintouq and Bale closes as the drivers get ready for the last event in two weeks time on the South Circuit at Abu Dhabi's Formula One venue on Yas Island.

If Bale can repeat this clean sweep there he will find himself following in the footsteps of previous Formula Gulf 1000 Champions, Joe Ghanem and Nick Canal. However, Saeed Bintouq will not want that to happen so we can look forward to another titanic battle.
